What an amazing day!

Thank you to everyone who came on Saturday to help us celebrate our 30 years in caring. The weather was very kind to us and a big thank you to the Red Arrows for opening our celebration with the flypast!!!

We were very pleased to welcome the mayor of Sodbury Cllr Wendy Whittle, who helped Mrs Roberts cut the ribbon on our new wood carving to mark this important milestone. Andrew O’Neill ( wild wood carving) did an amazing job, thank you.

It was lovely to be reunited with so many previous staff and even our first Matron. It was also great to see families and friends from over the years, and gave us the opportunity to thank 4 members of staff who between them have been with us for 94 years!!

The residents, staff and guests were also joined by our visiting therapy dog Sammy and some more unusual visitors bought by Seb Miller. They had a fascinating time holding his pygmy hedgehog, baby skunk, parrot, bearded dragon and some even braved the tarantula!

Thank you also to Linda and her team from Cotswold Celebration Company for making Firgrove House look stunning for the party with the balloons and decorations.

Thank you everyone for making it such a memorable day
